The 2010 Brenda Carol Renaissance Jazz Fair will be taking place SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2010. The fair will be held at Peace Theatre, 305 Dawes Road, Toronto, ON. CANADA Cost: $20.00 at the door. Up-and-coming young jazz artists featured include singers: JANICE HAWKE, SUZANNE MALLET, JEN SAGAR, MELISSA LAUREN, HALEY SMALL with guitarist NATHAN HILTZ, bassist GEORGE KOLLER, pianist STEPHEN GARDNER, pianist HANK FURMAN, saxman ROB CHRISTIAN, trumpeter BROWNMAN, guitarist MARK SEPIC, percussionist RICK SHADRACH LAZAR, and BRENDA CAROL. The series is presented by noted jazz artist Brenda Carol and Long & McQuade’s JON LONG.

This is a small grass roots festival that features young up-and-coming and lesser known jazz artists. All proceeds (Door) go to Peace Theatre, 305 Dawes Road, Toronto, and the many artists who perform in this fine festival. As part of Fourth Annual Jazz Fair Brenda Carol will be offering a FREE JAZZ/PROG MASTERS CLASS entitled: Singing For Your Supper highlighting applied jazz standards and progressive music for performance and recording. This new master class series is funded by Brenda Carol Vocal Lessons and Gardner Piano & Guitar Lessons. Audience members are encouraged to sing one of their favourite songs with Stephen Gardner on keyboard. (Please bring appropriate charts for yourself and the accompianist). The master class is Saturday, February 6th 2010 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm at Long & McQuade (the Bloor Street location). 925 Bloor Street W., Toronto, ON Canada.
